The Midnight Lotus

This piece was inspired by my love for flowers and nature and all the comparisons we can find when we just sit and observe.

The warm vibrant colors of the lotus in contrast with the cool blue waves show the contrast in our inner expressions of self and the environments/influences the cause us to suppress those expressions.

Many times, we are subject to hiding who we really are to meet others expectations. Leading us down a path of people pleasing and external validation.

It’s important that we make time to create spaces where healthy self expression is top of mind. In a world filled with options, it’s easy to get lost in the sauce and forget about our true intentions.

This piece is a reminder to embrace your true self. Remember that your life/opinions/emotions matter just as much as the next person. It is also a reminder that we have to allow that same space for others to express who they are in order to facilitate a space of growth, cooperation, and prosperity.
